Coming up this Friday night we have high school football at Minden as the Whippets host the 8th ranked Gothenburg Swedes. Our coverage starts at 6:40pm with kickoff at 7pm.
At 6:05 pm we will bring you the Countryman Associates high school football preview show. As usual we will have a number of area coaches on the show.
This week will will hear from Phil Truax of Lexington, Jason Hale of Holdrege, Craig Haake of Gothenburg, Minden's Sam Dunn, Eustis Farnam's Brad Dunlap, Kevin Mahlberg of Elwood, Glenn Snodgrass of Overton and we will also talk with Stan Wissel of Elm Creek.
Friday August 21st
If you can't wait for the high school sports season to get underway a number of teams will hold scrimmages tonight around the area. In Lexington its a full day of activities. The Cross Country squad's water melon feed is at 4pm, the Boys tennis team will also scrimmage at 4. The Softball team holds its sunflower seed scrimmage at 5pm and the volleyball squad will scrimmage at 6:15pm. At 7:30 the minutemen football team will hold its annual scrimmage.
Lexington kicks off the season next week at home against Scottsbluff we will have that game for you on 93.1 KRVN FM. Other scrimmages set for tonight includes in Cozad, the Haymaker football team will hit the field at 6, Kearney goes at 6:30 and Gothenburg scrimmages at 7pm and Holdrege will scrimmage at 7 as well.
