Dolly Parton's gospel recordings from the early 1970s will be reissued on CD and digitally on May 4 by RCA Nashville/Legacy. Titled Letter to Heaven: Songs of Faith and Inspiration, the 16-track album features music from her early career with producer Bob Ferguson. The collection's first 10 songs are from her 1971 album, The Golden Streets of Glory. A previously unreleased track, "Would You Know Him," is also included; the song is an outtake from Golden Streets of Glory written by Parton and her aunt, Dorothy Jo Hope. Parton wrote many of the songs, such as "Comin' for to Carry Me Home," "Daddy Was an Old Time Preacher Man" (a Top 10 hit duet with Porter Wagoner), "God's Coloring Book," "Letter to Heaven" and "Sacred Memories."
