Eagles soar into semifinal

After a slow start on Thursday the Overton Eagles eventually picked up steam and advanced to the D1 state semifinals with a 55-45 win over Randolph. Overton trailed 8-0 to start the game and faced a 5 point deficit at half. Randolph pushed the lead to 31-24 early in the third quarter before the Eagles rallied to lead 40-37 heading into the fourth quarter. Overton then limited Randolph to just 8 points in the final eight minutes to pick up its 20th win of the year. Junior Zach Olmstead led the way with 18 points for the Eagles. Jacob Olmstead had 14, while Jacob Jensen played well off the bench with 9 points and several offensive rebounds.
