Long time Scotts Bluff County prosecutor Doug Warner, who is currently employed as an assistant Attorney General, filed Monday morning for Scotts Bluff County Attorney. Warner, who served in the local office for many years, both as a deputy and as Scotts Bluff County Attorney, filed as a Democrat.
Warner, who has had a hand in prosecuting all of the county's homicide cases over the last three decades and many of its major criminal trials, has not been available for comment.
But Scotts Bluff County Attorney Tiffany Wasserburger, who was appointed to the position by the commissioners last year, welcomed Warner's filing and told KNEB News she does not intend to challenge him.
Wasserburger noted if Warner is elected, it will bring the county attorney's office up to full strength as far as the number of deputies in the office, something it has struggled with.
