NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) _ Just like a good beauty queen, when she got the boot from ``Nashville Star'' Alyson Gilbert had a smile on her face. The former Miss St. Paul says she was sad about being eliminated Monday but wasn't ``going to go out having a nervous breakdown on national television.'' Plus, she says ``the smile at the end was completely genuine. I was so happy to have had that experience.'' During her time on ``Nashville Star,'' the judges criticized Gilbert for her pageantry performances, which included exaggerated facial expressions. Jewel was especially vocal, saying Gilbert was lacking emotion. Gilbert says she's confused by that comment. Despite, her early departure from the show, Gilbert's music dreams remain strong. She says music is in the forefront of her mind and she will ``continue to pursue that heavily, especially now.'' Next week's episode of ``Nashville Star'' will be a double whammy, with two contestants being voted off. One at the beginning of the show and one at the end.
