Lady A best album this week
Published Monday, February 08, 2010 at 12:20 PM

Lady A is the toast of Nashville this week as its sophomore album, Need You Now, tops not only Billboard's country chart but also the all-genre Billboard 200 rankings. Need You Now sold a remarkable 480,922 copies its first week out.
And the excitement helped keep the trio's self-titled debut CD solidly within the country Top 5. In its 94th week on the charts, Lady Antebellum sold just over 31,000 units and currently stands at No. 3.
Jason Aldean may be quaffing champagne, too. His single, "The Truth," racks up its second week at No. 1 on Billboard's country songs chart.
Well, enough of this heavy breathing. Let's check out the other fresh stuff.
Vince Gill boasts the only other new album. His Love Songs collection bows at No. 36. Craig Morgan's That's Why re-enters the action at No. 73.
David Nail's "Turning Home" is the highest-debuting of the week's three new songs. It parts the curtain at No. 49. The other newbies are Tim McGraw's "Still" (No. 51) and Rascal Flatts' "Close" (No. 60).
Completing the Top 5 albums cluster are Taylor Swift's Fearless (No. 2), the Zac Brown Band's The Foundation (No. 4) and Carrie Underwood's Play On (No. 5).
The No. 2 through No. 5 songs, in that order, are Miranda Lambert's "White Liar," Brad Paisley's "American Saturday Night," Josh Turner's "Why Don't We Just Dance" and Darius Rucker's "History in the Making."
